New look and a new page!

I changed up the blog a little bit. Like it?  I prefer the layout of this better and it seems to be more my style.  I wish I had more computer geekness and could create my own, but I lack skill and time.  So, I downloaded a free template and that will have to do for now.  I still hate the name of the blog, but I can't think of anything better.  If anyone has any great ideas, please pass them along.

Here is a page I did a couple weeks ago, but it sat on my desk to simmer.  I just wanted to see if it was finished.  I think it is.  LOL!

Papers are Fancy Pants, chipboard letters are Basic Grey, Rub-ons Basic Grey, Kaisercraft and Fancy Pants, stamps are Tin Box Creations (Scraptivity!) and the clouds are cut with Cricut (Going Places).

Thanks for looking!

They can't all be masterpieces!!

I started this layout last week, and finished it this afternoon. I liked it well enough.  I used some really, really old EK Success vellum and I thought it looked great with the tan background and the colours from my photos. But then I said to myself, "Self, I think this page needs a little Glimmer Mist!" And that's when I got a little crazy with the Glimmer Mist and a paintbrush. I don't mind it on the paper, but there is too much on the photos.  ACK!  Oh, well.  It is going in the album as is.

Cardstock is Coredinations and DCWV, Vellum is EK Success, title cut with SCAL and Cricut, Making Memories alphas, chipboard elements are Paper House Productions, stamps, Stampendous, unknown brads, Magenta mesh and of couse, Glimmer Mist in Riptide.

Oh, who am I kidding?  I'll probably just re-print the photos.  ;)

Butterfly Hunt

When I started scrapbooking this vacation album, I bought the new Fancy Pants Beach Bum and Beach Babe kits.  I adore Fancy Pants stuff!  But, I have so much older stash that I made a promise to myself to also use up all the old supplies that I have had kicking around, some of it for years.  I have stuff that I won in contests or stuff I earned on design teams.  It's bordering on the ridiculous! So, here is my first jump into using up some old stash and I'm quite pleased with the result.

This is a really old Heidi Swapp paper that I misted with Tattered Angels and inked with Distress Inks.  I pop-dotted the butterflies (which were already partially cut for that purpose) and added some My Mind's Eye brads. I inked the butterflies as well. The vines were cut with the Cricut. Even the paper strips are from scraps of Heidi Swapp, Fancy Pants and some specialty paper from a Scraptivity kit.  See?  I had to sneak in some Fancy Pants, somewhere.  ;)

I should have another page for the end of the week.  I've been on a roll!  Woohoo!

Thanks for looking,

Already neglected. :(

It's been a pretty busy week around here.  I had all the good intentions of updating my blog, but as you can see, that didn't happen.  Anyway, I thought I would post the pages I did at the Bull River Scrapbook Retreat in May.  I produced a record number of pages, this year.  And I'm pretty happy with what I created, too. I'm working on the vacation album from our trip to Mexico.  I'm trying to get it done quickly and simply. So far, that plan is not working out.  Brian laughed at me when I said the pages would be simple.  A girl can dream, can't she?

It took me a while to remember how to photograph my layouts for the web. It's been a looooong time.  And I'm not sure how big an image Blogger will allow me to upload.  So these may be a bit small.  But, it's a start.  I'll have to upload more often so I can figure it out.  Promises, promises.  ;)

Enjoy!
