Us Together

Happy Monday!

It's been a busy couple of weeks around here (as usual). We have been immersed in hockey camps and tryouts for my son, but now we have a much anticipated six week break. Then in July, we start the whirlwind all over again, travelling to more hockey camps and tryouts. This is an important time for Nick and our whole family is kind of holding our breath to see where this ends up. I really must scrap this important story, but it's hard to wrap my brain around all the possibilities, hopes and fears.

In the meantime, I've been able to scrap in 10 minute intervals, here and there. This is when sketches or starting points are a life saver.  When I saw Shimelle's starting point I knew it would be perfect for this photo strip that has been sitting on my desk for a couple of years.

This layout is straight in real life, but for some reason, every photo I took made the page look crooked. ;)

Papers: Lily Bee Design, Chatterbox; Stickers: Lily Bee Design, October Afternoon; Diecuts: Jenni Bowlin, My Minds Eye; Alpha Stickers, Thickers; Miscellaneous: Micheals brand photo corners, WeRMemory Keepers baker's twine, My Mind's Eye brads, K & Company gems, Martha Stewart punch

I love the little banner under the title! The LilyBee sticker sheet has LOTS of banner stickers on it. I used 18 on my page, and I still have 21 left! I put dimensional adhesive under the top layer of stickers to give it more oomph.

And while I had the LilyBee kit out, I made this simple birthday card for my friend. I used some older stickers and diecuts. You know that I love mixing old and new! :)

Papers: Lily Bee Design; Stickers & Diecuts: American Crafts, Sandylion, Colorbok; Bakers Twine: WeRMemory Keepers; Punch: Fiskars Threading Water; Stamp: Kaiser Craft

Thanks for looking!

Did Someone Say Hockey Photos?

Happy Belated Mother's Day to all the moms out there! I hope you had a wonderful day whether it was just relaxing at home or busy with friends and family.

At our house, the gift I most wanted was to just spend the day in my scraproom.... alone. ;) Well, the alone part never happened. (I should install a revolving door in the that room.) But, I did manage to scrap the day away until dinner (chinese takeout) and then we went for a long family walk. The perfect Mother's Day!

Here are the pages I made yesterday. It's pretty sad that I scrapped for 8 hours and this is all that I accomplished. I am the slowest scrapper EVER!

I continued to work on the National Scrapbook Day Challenges from Two Peas in a Bucket. This first one was the Confetti Challenge. Sorry about the lighting. It looks much better in real  life. ;)

Paper: Colorbok, Lilybee Designs, Karen Foster; Diecuts: Little Yellow Bicycle; Brads: Stamping Station; Alphas: Scenic Route, American Crafts Thickers; Stamps: Making Memories, Fancy Pants; Unknown Sequins

This page was for the Bright Colours Challenge. I know it's not that bright, but for one of my hockey pages, it is. For some reason, I always think they have to be distressed and grungy. Must be to make the page look "hockey player tough". LOL!

Paper: My Minds Eye, Colorbok; Diecut: Little Yellow Bicycle; Colorbok; Stickers: Stamping Station; Alphas: My Minds Eye, American Crafts Thickers, Cricut/SCAL; Unknown chipboard stars

And here is the Mother's Day card I made for my mommy. I found this very old Mustard Moon paper (anyone remember them?) that is a newspaper collage about sewing and homemaking. ;) It was a perfect match to the button card from Echo Park. Just love mixing old and new!

Papers: Echo Park, Mustard Moon,; Buttons: Fancy Pants Design; Punch: Martha Steward; Stamp: KaiserCraft; Unknown floss, fibre and lace

Welcome to the new followers and thanks for all the kind comments. They always make my day!

And with that.... it's FINISHED!!

I can hardly believe it, but I finally finished my vacation album!! My goal was to finish it before the anniversary of our trip and I missed it by a couple of months, but it's close enough.

It was National Scrapbook Day this past weekend and for the first time in seven years, I celebrated it at home.... alone. :(  And I had to work. I will not be exaggerating when I say I was feeling pretty sorry for myself here on Saturday  night. But, I found some NSD challenges on Two Peas in a Bucket and got to work.

I'm not going to list the supplies that I used for each page, because it will take too long. Most of it is Fancy Pants, Bo Bunny and Graphic 45. I knew that I was winding down and I tried to get as much product used as possible. If you would like to know who makes a particular product, just drop  me a line and I can let you know.

Now, to be fair, I didn't do all these pages on the weekend; these were done last week:

And these are the pages I did this weekend for NSD at 2P's.

Here's use a polaroid on a page challenge:

This next page isn't my favourite. The challenge was to use a chevron and I like that element, but the rest just seems blah. Whatever. I do like the booklet I made for my extra photos. These are the photos that I didn't think were scrap worthy, so I stuck them together in a little booklet and am calling it done! ;)

Now where are those hockey photos?

TFL!
