Hello Summer

Happy Monday!

Hope you are enjoying your summer. It's half over, can you believe it? Time just marches on faster and faster every day.

This page took me all week, but I am really happy with the results. The sun burst was a bit time consuming but I love it!

Paper: Bazzill Basics, Mustard Moon, Basic Grey, Magenta, K&Company; Embellishments: October Afternoon Stickers & Alphas, K&Company washi tape, staples: Stamps: American Crafts Date Stamp, Fancy Pants, Close to My Heart, Stampendous; Kerri Bradford digital diecut file and photo board

I made the sunburst by drawing it onto a piece of computer paper, first. When I was finally happy with the size of each of the rays (no one ever accused me of being an artist! Ha!), I numbered each ray and then cut it out to make pattern pieces. I then traced each pattern piece onto the pieces of patterned paper and cut them out. I was especially pleased that every piece of patterned paper is a scrap!  When I liked the placement of everything, I distressed the edges and then sewed them onto the cardstock.

Like I said, time consuming, but I think oh so worth it! Of course, I messed up and sewed the sun on before printing my journaling, so I fixed that by printing it onto a transparency. Worked like a charm!

All about Julia!

Happy Monday!

This week, I scrapped about my girl, Julia. After all these hockey pages I've done, I needed to do some pretty scrapping! ;) And as luck would have it, 2Peas had CHA challenges this week to help me along. I was only able to get two of the challenges done, but here they are.

First up was the colour challenge. We had to use yellow-orange, gray and teal.  Oh how I love these colours! And the Lily Bee Buttercup collection is full of yellow-orange, gray and teal. *sigh*  I did find the teal paper in the collection too blue, so I swapped it out for the teal chevron in their Head over Heels collection. I love it when companies make collections work together.  An added bonus is that very old journaling card. I thought the heading worked perfectly for the subject of this page.

Papers & Stickers: Lily Bee Design; Diecuts & Punches: Tim Holtz Sizzix Die, Fiskars Punch, Martha Stewart Punch; Alphas: My Minds Eye, Cricut/SCAL; Misc: Teresa Collins gem brads, We R Memory Keepers twine, rhinestones, stapler, paper clip

The other challenge I completed was the Christmas in July. But, I doubled up my challenges and also used this week's Glitter Girl challenge to use a challenging paper from your stash.

I am so happy to use this old Basic Grey paper. It  sat in my stash for years because I couldn't figure out how to use it and I didn't want to cut it up. It was just too pretty! And now  all that is left of this collection are a few scraps of paper, a couple stickers and some alphas. What a good feeling!

If you've never seen Glitter Girl videos, you need to check them out here. It will change the way you scrapbook. I know it has for me.

Papers: Basic Grey, Bazzill Basics; Alphas: Lily Bee Designs, Basic Grey, Thickers; Misc: twine, Echo Park camera

Thanks so much for looking!

This One Time, At Provincials...

Happy Monday!

In keeping with the hockey theme I have going, I thought I better get this page down, soon. It's about what the parents did during the week of Provincials.  The parents on this team are a fun bunch and we had a ball!  There were lots of late nights and many laughs. And perhaps a drink... or two!

Nick posted this photo of me in my hockey jersey to Facebook and it got more attention than he could have predicted. If you look carefully, one of the dads looks like he's licking my head. The Facebook comments to that photo went on for a week! So, I had Nick do a screenshot for me and I included everyone's hilarious comments on the page.

I wanted to keep this page simple because there was so much journaling. And since I didn't have room to add my husbands badge on the other layout about Provincials, I just added it here. Luckily, it matches the Facebook page.  ;)

Papers: My Minds Eye, Bazzill Basics; Embellishments: My Minds Eye, Teresa Collins Brad; Alphas: Lilybee Design, Echo Park; Stamp: Studio Calico; Misc. Rhinestones,

And here is a card I made for my aunt and uncle's 49th wedding anniversary. It's lovely, isn't it?  Too bad I got all the way to my parent's house before I realized that I left it on my desk. So, they haven't seen it yet. *sigh*

Papers: My Mind's Eye, Neenah; Diecuts: Tim Holtz; Stamp: Kaisercraft; Misc: Jute, vintage buttons, dollar store doily

Bantam Provinicals

Happy Monday, scrappers!

I haven't much to share today. It's been a busy couple of weeks driving my daughter back and forth to work, staining the deck and trying to squeeze in some summer fun.

It took me two weeks to get this page done in 5 minute intervals. ;)  I'm hoping to do a bit more scrapping this week, but now that the sun is here, I'm not making any promises.

Here's ANOTHER hockey page. I'm starting to get sick of these, now. But, I only have a few more to get done. I want to get all the journaling in while it's still sort of fresh in my memory.

There's lots of stamping here. Stars and arrows are getting tiresome, so I thought I'd use phrases and words to go with the very old Rusty Pickle paper that I used.

Papers: DCWV, Rusty Pickle, Echo Park, Embellishments: October Afternoon, Teresa Collins, Stamps: Ali Edwards (Technique Tuesday, Tim Holtz, Studio G, Alphas: Prima Marketing, Scenic Route, Echo Park, Lily Bee Designs, Gelatins; Punches/Scissors: EK Success, Fiskars

That's all I have today. If you want to find me, I hope that this is where we'll be.
