Happy Monday!
I had a very good scrappy week! My CHA prizes came in from Two Peas in a Bucket. I was so lucky to win two prizes; one for the Elle's Studio video comments and one for chatting with Wilna Furstenburg. Then, I found out that Canadian Scrapbooker is going to publish another one of my layouts. And it's a page that has a lot of special meaning for me, so that's even more of a bonus.
Here are pics of the goodies I won. I received all the Elle's Studio goodies shown in the video.
I don't win prizes of any kind very often, so this was pretty exciting! So, I got to work using some of the Elle's Studio pretties, right away.
I love the new trend of using cut-outs on the background page. So, I challenged myself to give it a go. And I am so happy with the results. I also challenged myself to go through my older photos and pick from those. When I came upon this photo, I remembered that I had a plan for the journaling, but do you think I could remember what it was?? I think it had something to do with Nick's eyelashes, but I can't tell you that for sure. *sigh* After staring at the picture for a while, the premise for the page just came together. In the end, this probably makes for a better story than my boy's eyelashes. They are still pretty spectacular, but now that he's 15, he probably thinks this story is less embarrassing. ;)
Papers: Bazzill Basics, October Afternoon; Stickers & Alphas: October Afternoon, Echo Park; Journaling cards & diecuts: Elle's Studio; Buttons: Basic Grey, My Mind's Eye; Misc: My Mind's Eye washi tape, floss, Studio Calico & Tattered Angels mists; 7 Gypsies stamps
I made the chevron cutout using my Expression and SCAL. It's just the "greater than symbol" (I know that has a proper name, but I can't remember it!) and I just copied and pasted it down the sheet. It was super easy! I'll be doing this technique again. Probably with a title next time.
Thanks for looking!
