Out and About

Hi there!

I have a quick blog post today, sharing a 12x12 page and pocket page spread from my Vegas album.  Well, it's sort of a pocket page.  This is the last set of photos that I wanted to use in pockets.  I knew the following layout would be a full page so, I scrapped my photos as if it would be a pocket page, but then adhered them to a 12x12 piece of cardstock.

There are no fancy techniques here, other than the fact that I used the backside of a very old single sided piece of patterned paper for the pocket style page.  Since you see so little of  the paper, I didn't want to waste a full piece of good cardstock. I was able to cover up the branding information on the page with a photo and no one would ever tell it's the backside. If anyone remembers Arctic Frog, this is the back of one of their papers.  ;)

I am trying to use up all of Shimelle's Go Now Go collection before I finish the album, since I'm itching to start the next travel album and this collection won't work. I don't have much left, so it's starting to be a challenge all on it's own.

Thanks for looking!

Fabulous

Hi there!

I'm up today with another entry in my Vegas Vacation album. I only have a few more pages in this album to finish. But, I'll still be scrapping vacation photos because my husband and I just came back from another vacation, last week. So, I have two vacation albums to do; one for a Cabo San Lucas trip and now to Cuba.

When the kids started getting older and left for college, I worried that I'd have nothing to scrapbook. But, it seems like I've found a new subject to scrap about: Me!!

When I first saw this scalloped paper from Crate Paper, I thought it begged for some stitching. It took a long time to do, but I just love the texture it gives the page. Pretty much everything here is from Crate Paper with a few items from Heidi Swapp thrown in.

I used to be an avid cross stitcher and I still have all the DMC floss, so I was able to go through my stash and find matching colours to the paper.  Another reason to never throw away craft supplies!

You & Me and Sidewalk Canasta

Hi there!

Today, I'm sharing some more pages that I completed during the Paper Issues Spring Crop a couple weekends ago. I was pretty happy to have completed four layouts during that weekend. I managed to complete a couple more before the challenge deadline.  I'll share those next weekend.

The "You & Me" layout was for the Follow the Leader challenge.  Through Facebook Live, Annelie Maddock gave us instructions and measurements to create this page. It was a lot of fun! The design is a bit different than what I'm used to creating, but at the same time, it looks like my work.  Funny how that turns happens! It was nice to use a photo that wasn't from the Vegas album.

This page is for the Sketch challenge. These photos are of us in Vegas playing Canasta. I used some notepad paper for the title and journaling and I have an old deck of cards that I pick from just for scrapbooking.  Nothing fancy about this layout, but the photos just make me smile.

Most of the supplies for both pages are Crate Paper or Pink Paislee.  Both manufacturer lines coordinate so well together
