Fabulous

Hi there!

I have FINALLY finished Julia's grad layouts. Just in time for Nick's graduation in June.  LOL!

I love this page. It's a bit more frilly than I usually do with the flowers, but I just felt the need to do a really girly page for these photos.

Papers: Shimelle for American Crafts, Bazzill Basics; Embellishments: Prima Marketing,
unknown flowers, unknown rhinestones, Studio Calico, Teresa Collins sequins, American
Crafts stickers; Studio Calico mist; patterned scissors;

The pink flowers are silk ones that I bought from the craft store many, many years ago. Another reason to never purge supplies. They matched the colours of Shimelle's line perfectly! I cut the title from a Kerri Bradford file out of chipboard and then covered it with Stickles to bring in more of the glitter.

It's been really foggy here, so the photos are really dark. Just one more reason to dislike winter. ;)

Thanks for looking!

December Album #csmphotoprompt

Hi there!

I can officially say that I finished my December album.  Woohoo! I'm 2 for 2 for December Albums! (I don't have the best track record for finishing mini albums.)

Here are a few of my favourite pages.

If you've been scrapping a long time, you might recognize the Making Memories acrylic frames in the next two pages. They have been in my stash for too many years to count. And now they aren't. ;) A 2x2 inch photo fits perfectly. MM had the best products. Just another one of those companies that I miss. *sigh*

Away She Goes

Hi there!

Happy New Year! I hope you had a lovely holiday season! I didn't get much scrapping done this holiday. I did work on my December album a bit, but it's not finished yet. I did get inspired to work on a new page this weekend that was a total tangent of what I've been working on.

I have to admit that I still miss Two Peas in a Bucket. A lot. The gallery there inspired me every time I checked it out. I haven't been able to find a gallery that does that for me, yet. Pinterest helps, but I don't find it to inspire me in the same way. That is, until I stumbled upon this pin from Jill Sprott that she created for the Jenni Bowlin Blog.

I had long been hoarding the branding strips from patterned paper and I thought this would be the perfect time to use them up. The minute I saw Jill's page, I got to work.

Papers: American Crafts, Studio Calico, Basic Grey, Crate Paper; Embellishments:
Echo Park, Studio Calico, Bo Bunny, American Crafts, Fancy Pants Designs

I didn't stray too far from Jill's page other than  photo placement and making mine a bit more "girlie".  I did add some drops of black mist to make it a bit grungier. I think that helps tell the bittersweet story of bringing our daughter to college. Some might say it could mimic the tears that were shed that day. But that might be over thinking it. HA!
