Hi there!
Happy New Year! I hope you had a lovely holiday season! I didn't get much scrapping done this holiday. I did work on my December album a bit, but it's not finished yet. I did get inspired to work on a new page this weekend that was a total tangent of what I've been working on.
I have to admit that I still miss Two Peas in a Bucket. A lot. The gallery there inspired me every time I checked it out. I haven't been able to find a gallery that does that for me, yet. Pinterest helps, but I don't find it to inspire me in the same way. That is, until I stumbled upon this pin from Jill Sprott that she created for the Jenni Bowlin Blog.
I had long been hoarding the branding strips from patterned paper and I thought this would be the perfect time to use them up. The minute I saw Jill's page, I got to work.
Papers: American Crafts, Studio Calico, Basic Grey, Crate Paper; Embellishments:
I didn't stray too far from Jill's page other than photo placement and making mine a bit more "girlie". I did add some drops of black mist to make it a bit grungier. I think that helps tell the bittersweet story of bringing our daughter to college. Some might say it could mimic the tears that were shed that day. But that might be over thinking it. HA!
Thanks for looking!
Sylvie

DeleteLOL! You're too funny!
DeleteFabulous idea on a page! Great fun and colorful page you created. Yes, I too miss 2Peas for its gallery - tons of inspiration.
ReplyDeleteThere are a lot of things regarding scrapping that I am missing. A real live store is one of them. I spent a lot of happy time at 2 peas. I think I will have to go into my garbage bucket because I just threw out all my strips - New Years resolution "I will not save any papers less than 4X4" LOL Great page Sylvie.
ReplyDeleteI love the background you created and your photo placement. Beautiful!
