Hi there!
Happy New Year! I hope you had a lovely holiday. Ours at the Hoobanoff household was busy and kind of last minute. For some reason, I just could not get organized for Christmas. So, I was quite behind in my December Daily album. Crafting always seems to come last on the "to do" list. And then one day, just before Christmas, I watched a video from Shari Carrol from Simon Says Stamp, and that pushed me even further behind!
Shari used a circle stencil, but I chose to use a snowflake stencil that I received with my December Creative Scrapbooker Magazine. And I used cheese cloth on the bottom instead of the threads. Because the clip is so large at the top, I thought a larger title would balance the clip at the top and keep the tree as the focus. I cut the title with my Silhouette and sprayed it with Perfect Pearls to give it shimmer. There is a lot of shimmer all over the project, but it doesn't show very well in the photos.
Here is Shari's project.
I loved working on the project. It was quite time consuming having to let all the mists and gesso dry. But, I love it and was happy to make the changes I did for my own spin on it. Thanks Shari, for the inspiration!
I have now turned my attention back to December Daily. I will hopefully have a post next week with my favourite pages and that I will be able to report that the album is complete. Fingers crossed!
Thanks for looking!

The minute I saw this project, I knew I had to try to recreate it. I have amassed quite the collection of buttons, so it's a great way to use them up. I didn't have the same type of mixed media but I made due with metallic Gelatos and the colours of mist in my stash.
