Hi there!
Today, I am sharing the last layout in my Las Vegas vacation album!! I'm pretty happy that this album is finished. But, I'm kind of disappointed in how this last page turned out.
I have been using the Shimelle Go Now Go collection for this album. And on my desk sat all the branding strips. So, I thought I better get them down on a piece of paper or I knew I would never use them.
So a few days ago, I created this mosaic with all the strips. There are a few extras from Crate Paper thrown in that were also sitting on my desk. It was very easy to adhere them to the full page of an older paper from another Shimelle line. I love how all her collections mix and match.
I fussy cut the flowers on the left side of the photo from a piece of 6x6 paper I had and added the Lilybee alphas to create the title. With all the business of the page, there wasn't much embellishment that needed to be done. I loved the layout so far, and I only had the journaling left to do.
Fast forward two weeks, and this layout was still sitting on my desk, waiting for journaling. I am expecting company this coming weekend, so I wanted to put this page away. I sat down to do my journaling, in a hurry and that's when I ruined my pretty page. I made so many spelling mistakes. And I hate how I went around the title with my writing. Now, it has that funny space around it. Ugh! Oh well. It's done now. And the album, is finished. I am happy with how the album turned out over all. And lesson learned. If I don't have the time to tell a long story, I shouldn't even attempt it.
Thanks for looking!

Beautiful layout! Didn't even notice the spelling mistakes, just the beautiful design!
ReplyDeleteGreat idea for using the branding strips. Gives me an idea on how to use them. Nice layout. Only you will know the spelling mistakes made. Only an English teacher will notice them and make a fuss about them. No worries.
ReplyDeleteI love your page!
ReplyDeleteI love that you used your hand writing to journal right on the page. Your hand writing is one of those things that people recognise about you, it is meaningful in ways you often cannot imagine. Just think if you had a page like that from your Great Grandmother? So special.
I know how you feel about the spelling mistakes and also the places where you changed your mind and had to go over a letter because I do that so often. however if you are really unhappy about it why not cut another piece of pp to that same shape and redo the journalling.
ReplyDeletesorry I forgot to add that I think this page is stunning and such a brilliant use of the branding strips.
