My Favorite Spot To Be

Happy Friday!

Here's a quick and easy page, using up a bunch of scraps, some old Fancy Pants paper and my new Martha Stewart Monarch Butterfly punch. I know this punch has been out for quite a while, but he is new to me. This could be the start of a beautiful friendship!

Papers: Fancy Pants; Bazzil Basics; Embellishments: Fancy Pants, Bo Bunny; My Mind's Eye; Punches: Martha Stewart, Fiskars; Stamps: Heidi Swap, TinBox; Alpha Stickers: American Crafts, October Afternoon, Basic Grey

Remember me?

So, I took a bit of a hiatus from my blog the last few weeks. First I was on holidays, then I worked full-time for the last two.  My hat is off to you full-time work outside the home moms.  By the time I got the kids organized for school, the odd load of laundry done, and the odd workout in, it would be 8 or 9 at night before I would sit at my scrapping desk. I'd move a few pieces of paper around for a few minutes and then discouraged, head for bed. That certainly didn't leave much time or incentive for blogging.

Anyway, I managed to get a few pages made, but they're certainly not my best work.  Well except for the one of Brian. I do like that one. :)  But, that's okay. They're scrapbooked and I'm that much closer to having this vacation album completed.

So, without any more excuses, here is what I've been working on the last few weeks.

Paper: Simple Stories, Fancy Pants, Bazzil Basics; Diecuts & Chipboard: Simple Stories, Bo Bunny, Crate Paper; Rub-ons: American Crafts; Marah Johnson; Title: October Afternoon, Simple Stories, Pink Paislee, Cricut & SCAL; Miscellaneous: Distress Ink, Tattered Angels Spray, EK Success Border Punch, Photo Corners

As I've mentioned, I am trying to use up some really old stash.  And the rub-ons below certainly qualify as old.  They are SEI from a Scraptivity kit dated April 2006.  They were a bit difficult to rub on because of their age... they are a bit cracked. But I think they matched nicely with the distressed papers from My Mind's Eye. And I used pretty much the whole sheet, so that made me very happy.

Paper: My Mind's Eye; Rub-ons & Stickers: My Minds Eye, SEI; Chipboard: Grungeboard, Cricut; Diecuts: Simple Stories; Alpha Stickers: My Mind's Eye & October Afternoon

And last but not least is a page idea from Shimelle Laine's 4x6 Photo Love video on Two Peas in a Bucket. At Xplor, we were scammed.... I mean we purchased..... the thumbdrive with all the automatic photos that they take throughout the park.  It was crazy expensive, but Brian really wanted the photos (see layout above LOL!). Anyway, I had a bunch of these photos from the Lazy River, and Shimelle's sketch fit perfectly for them. It's made up of two page protectors sewn together, to house 8 photos. But, I was able to squeeze in eleven!   Here it is closed:

Paper: My Mind's Eye, Echo Park, Crate Paper, Bazzil Basics; Stickers, October Afternoon, My Mind's Eye, EK Success. Sassafrass Lass; Stamps: Studio AE, Tin Box for Scraptivity, MME;  Brads: Karen Foster, Making Memories; Title: Cricut and SCAL; Miscellaneous: Gelatins Embossing Powder, Corner Rounder, Stapler

And here it is opened:

The journaling reads:

Front Page: The brochure said "Row a raft with your own hands along crystal clear water with an average terperature of 72 degrees F. On this matchless 601 yd long adventure, you will go on a raft through fascinating grottoes of the Xplor's subterranean world."

Next Page: What it should have said. "Row a plastic raft with plastic paddles, slipped over your hands, that make it virtually impossible to control. Try to avoid people who have no idea how to row a boat and are spinnin in a circle, blocking the tunnels and being stuck in a traffic jam for 15-20 minutes. Have your photo taken by the automatic cameras at the most frustrating moments so that it looks like your family was fighting and miserable."

A reminder to those who are new to blogging, just click on the photo and a new window will open with a larger photo.

So, that's all I've done in the last little bit. Hopefully, I won't let 3 weeks go by before updating the blog. But I can't make any promises.  ;)
