Ride the Wave

Hi there!

I have a quick page today. I haven't had much time for scrapping, since we are doing some house renos and getting ready for my son's high school graduation in a few weeks.

But, I did want to get this page off my desk and out of the dust.

Papers: Fancy Pants Designs: Embellishments: Crate Paper chipboard
& diecuts, Scenic Route chipboard, Fancy Pants rubons, Fancy Pants stickers,
dollar store wood veneer

I used a bunch of old Fancy Pants rubons on this spread. I love their rubons. They are always easy to apply and never seem to dry out. And in my stash, I found a chipboard piece from Scenic Route and it matched the papers perfectly!  I LOVE it when that happens!

Thanks for looking!

Take a Picture

Hi there!

Today's layout is another for the Mexico vacation album that I'm working on.  Just a few pages left!

When I started planning the supplies for this album, I bought the Glitz Design Unchartered Waters 6x6 paper pack. I loved the colours of that pack!  But, I hardly used any of it. So, on this layout, I set out to use as many papers as I could and decided to make a quilted page.

Papers: Glitz Design, Bazzill Basics, unknown gold; Embellishments: American Crafts,
Crate Paper,  Heidi Swapp, Making Memories, Simple Stories: SVG files and
printables: The Cut Shoppe

I cut the 6x6 papers in half diagonally and then sewed them onto a back ground paper. Here's a quick tip. I used the back of a really old piece of patterned paper as the background instead of cardstock. This particular piece is white on the back and my patterned paper covered the bar code printed on it.  It's a great way to use up an outdated piece of paper!

The title is cut from an SVG file from The Cut Shoppe. I love it!  I think I'll be using that title a few more times. ;)

This particular set of photos had lots of out-takes with them.  So, I decided to put those in a pocket page.  I just copied the quilted pattern for each pocket. Some of the photos are mounted on Glitz Design 4x6 cards. So, it's more of a complement page, than a double page spread.

Have a lovely long weekend, fellow Canadians! If you don't have time to scrap, I hope it's because you are out there making new memories to scrapbook.

Thanks for looking,

Live in the Moment

Hi there!

This should be my last hockey page for the season. And I think I saved the best for last. I love this photo that Jamie Fitzgerald took of my son at a home game. It's just beautiful! So, I kept the page pretty simple to show it off.

Papers: Bazzill Basics, Teresa Collins, October Afternoon, Unknown;
Diecut: Basic Grey, Two Peas in a Bucket; Embellishments: American Crafts,
Unknown clips, gears & buttons, My Minds Eye Sticker, Stamping Station brad;
Mr. Huey's Mist; Tim Holtz Tiny Attacher

The layout is loosely based on a Canadian Scrapbooker Magazine sketch for April. I just couldn't get my act together to get it done that month. But, I thought it was a great sketch, so I wanted to give them a shout out. ;)

Instead of using circles like in the sketch, I used this lovely Basic Grey cut file. I cut it in half in the  middle behind the photo and moved the top half to the right to give it more movement. (The stars were mostly on the left side of the page before the cut.) Then I backed the stars with some scraps and some rrealllyyyyy old hockey paper scraps.

We Could Have Stopped Him.....

Hi there!

Just a quick and easy page for our vacation album.  I wanted to keep the focus on the photos since they tell the story so well on their own.

Papers: Basic Grey, Studio Calico, Bazzill Basics; Embellishment: Teresa Collins,
Fancy Pants, unknown wood veneer, water colour paint; Cricut font

I distressed the background page with some shimmery water colour paints from my stash. I got them in a kit a long time ago and I don't know who made them, but I like the effect.
