A funny thing happened on the way to the airport

Hi there!

Today, I am sharing the last layout in my Las Vegas vacation album!!  I'm pretty happy that this album is finished. But, I'm kind of disappointed in how this last page turned out.

I have been using the Shimelle Go Now Go collection for this album.  And on my desk sat all the branding strips.  So, I thought I better get them down on a piece of paper or I knew I would never use them.

So a few days ago, I created this mosaic with all the strips.  There are a few extras from Crate Paper thrown in that were also sitting on my desk.  It was very easy to adhere them to the full page of an older paper from another Shimelle line. I love how all her collections mix and match.

I fussy cut the flowers on the left side of the photo from a piece of 6x6 paper I had and added the Lilybee alphas to create the title. With all the business of the page, there wasn't much embellishment that needed to be done. I loved the layout so far, and I only had the journaling left to do.

Fast forward two weeks, and this layout was still sitting on my desk, waiting for journaling. I am expecting company this coming weekend, so I wanted to put this page away. I sat down to do my journaling, in a hurry and that's when I ruined my pretty page.  I made so many spelling mistakes.  And I hate how I went around the title with my writing.  Now, it has that funny space around it.  Ugh! Oh well.  It's done now.  And the album, is finished. I am happy with how the album turned out over all. And lesson learned.  If I don't have the time to tell a long story, I shouldn't even attempt it.

First Class Dining and Show Time

Hi there!

Today I am sharing the last two pages that I made for International Scrapbook Day, using the  Paper Issues Challenges.

This first page was for the Pretty Patterned Paper challenge where only pattered paper could be used on the page.

Most of the supplies on this page are from the Shimelle Go Now Go collection, except for a the "First Class" 3x4 card, the camera die cut and the yellow star paper which are from Pink Paislee's Atlas collection. This page isn't overly fancy, but with that busy background page, I wanted to stick to a basic design.  That "delish" flair is a VERY old American Crafts piece.  I love it when I can use old stash on a page and it all works.

This next page was supposed to be for the Black and White + One which was to use black and white supplies plus one other colour.

I started out the page thinking I would use white, black and gold.  But, I had a crazy weekend and could not get the page done it time for the challenge submission.  Since the photos were so red, I felt like the page needed a bit of pink and red to tie it together.  It doesn't show well in the photo, but the star wreath is shiny gold paper that I cut from a Paper Issues cut file.  It does look much better in real life. ;)

M&M Store Hijinx

Hi there!

Today I am sharing a layout I made during International Scrapbook Day with the help of the challenges over at Paper Issues.

This challenge was to use Ampersand, Alphabet and Arrows on a page.  Considering the subject of my page, I was already a third of the way there! ;)

Most of the supplies for this page are from Shimelle's Go Now Go collection.  The Vegas album is almost finished and there are only a few pieces of paper left in my stash.  I have used almost all of the embellishments from the stickers and ephemera packs.  I wanted some of the flowers for my embellishments, but I had used them all up on previous pages.  That is my only complaint about Shimelle's collections - never enough flowers! So, I checked out the ACDigitals site and purchased a couple embellishment packs and printed my own. Now I can print out as many flowers as I want!
