In the Pink - SOUS Borders Diecut Challenge

Hi there!

This week's diecut challenge from Stuck On U Sketches was to use borders. I have had this set of freebies from Creating Keepsakes Magazine forever! I'm not sure if they are still available on their website, but if you wanted to scraplift this page, any borders will do.

I wanted to scrapbook these photos of my friend and I at a scrapbook retreat we attended this spring. And you know I love that ombre effect, so this was the perfect challenge for that.

Papers: Echo Park, Bo Bunny, Crate Paper, Lilybee Design, Bella Boulevard, unknown scraps; Stickers & Diecuts: Making Memories, Crate Paper, American Crafts, Echo Park, Bella Boulevard, My Mind's Eye; Brads: My Minds Eye; Rhinestones: Bo Bunny, Glitz Design; Studio Calico wood veneer; Stamps: Pink Paislee, American Crafts, My Minds Eye, Scraptivity; Twine: American Crafts, Silver thread; Mists: Tattered Angels, Mr. Huey

Doing a page like this is a great way to use up some old supplies. I spent some time going through anything pink in my stash. And I'm pretty happy to use up some older supplies like those Making Memories photo corners and glittered flowers.

Be sure to stop by the Stuck On U Sketches Blog to see what the wonderful ladies have designed this week. And why not play along, with us?

Thanks for looking!

A Wedding Card

Hello there!

Can you believe it? I am making a blog post that is not a design team assignment for Stuck on U Sketches.  I haven't done that in forever! Summer has been a busy time for us and the only scrapping I seem to get done is for assignments.  But, I had to create a card for a wedding we attended, so I thought I would take a photo and post it!

Papers: Neenah Cardstock, October Afternoon, Crate Paper; Chipboard: Simple Stories;
Miscellaneous: twine, button, Crate Paper sticker, glitter,

I admit it. I love "potty people". But I thought I would dress up these Simple Stories chipboard people and glitter them up for the wedding. I just peeled off the adhesive backing and sprinkled glitter over it. So, the people are really upside down but applying glitter this way is quick and easy. I would say mess free, but it's glitter. It was everywhere. LOL!

I cut the "Mr and Mrs" with SCAL/Cricut and the font is Blessed Day which I downloaded from I LOVE this font and will be using it again, I am sure.

Thanks for looking!

Hopefully I will be back with other non-design team work very soon!

Miley & Jukka - Furry Friends SOUS Diecut Challenge

Glad you could stop by!  This week's Stuck On U Sketches diecut challenge is to use a "Furry Friend". Well, I didn't have to look to far to be inspired by our own furry friends, Miley and Jukka.

A few months ago, this thread on Two Peas in a Bucket caught my eye. Like lots of other scrapbookers, who have been scrapbooking for a long time, I have a large supply of much beloved Chatterbox papers and stickers. So, when I saw the challenge, I made a Chatterbox kit for myself pulling out some papers, chipboard and stickers. But, I never got around to using it.  Then, as I was planning this page, I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to pull it out and put it to work.

Papers: Chatterbox; SCAL/Dingbats: Kitty Cats, Can Dog; Chipboard: Chatterbox, American Crafts;  Brads: Chatterbox, My Minds Eye: Stickers: My Minds Eye, Simple Stories, Echo Park; Alpha Stickers: American Crafts Thickers, Fancy Pants: Miscellaneous: Kaiser Craft Stamps, Paint, Gold Embossing Ink, silver thread

Geometric shapes are all the rage lately, and I thought I'd use a modern technique to balance the older product. Otherwise, I had a tendency to want to scrap "old school" wit these supplies. I made the triangles with a Cuttlebug Harlequin die to cut diamond shapes, and then cut them in half. And gold is also making a come back, so I used some gold embossing powder on a couple chipboard shapes.

Be sure to stop by the SOUS blog and check out all the great submissions from the DT.
