Gone Fishin' - SOUS Diecut Challenge *Crustacean*

Hello there!

This week's Stuck On U Sketches diecut challenge was to use a crustacean. Ummmm, I have to admit that I had to dig deep for this one. :)  But, I figured I could add a cute little crab to a layout about my husband's fishing trip, this past summer.

He had taken quite a few photos, so I knew that it would have to be a two page spread and so I thought I'd make it look like Project Life. I managed to get 12 photos on onelayout! Woohoo!

Papers: Tim Holtz, Glitz Design, Fancy Pants, Graphic 45, Bo Bunny, Pink Paislee, Bazzill Basics; Cartridges & Files: Going Places, Plantin Schoolbook, Stamped, Indie Art, Jennifer Collector of Hobbies SVG; Stamps: American Crafts, Scraptivity, Unknown Alpha, American Crafts roller date stamp; Diecuts & Stickers: Fancy Pants; Buttons & Gems: Glitz Design, Fancy Pants, Misc: Unknown brad, Magic Mesh, Jute, American Crafts Flair, Embossing Powder

I have to admit that I love this litte crab! He fits right in with Brian's lovely orange coveralls. You can find this SVG file and many other ocean creatures at Jennifer Collector of Hobbies. The steering wheel is from the same collection.

The stamp on the tag is one that I created from two different set. The original stamp, said "Eat, Sleep, Camp". Using some sharp scissors, I cut off the top and bottom off the stamp and substituted the word "Camp" for "Fish".  Unfortunately, I purchased the stamp set at a garage sale, and I have no idea who the manufacturer is. But, they are very similar to ones Hero Arts or Studio Calico make.

So now it's your turn to submit your crustacean diecut creation to the SOUS blog. We can't wait to see what you will come up with for this challenge!

Thank you for all your kind words. They mean more to me that you will ever know.

Crave the Wave - SOUS *Sea* Diecut Challenge

Hello there!

This week's diecut challenge for Stuck On U Sketches was to use something that had to do with the sea. Since we are pretty landlocked here in eastern BC, the only thing I had to scrap was boating photos. And waves suited the challenge, perfectly!

Papers: Bazzill Basics, Worldwin, Fancy Pants, Bo Bunny, Echo Park; Cricut: Plantin Schoolbook, Indie Art; Stamps: Pink Paislee, Sassafrass, Studio Calico, American Crafts; Misc: DMC floss, Pink Paislee diecuts, Mr. Huey mists, Distress Inks, American Crafts Flair, My Mind's Eye enamel dots, machine stitching

I couldn't find a wave design that I liked, so using my Design Studio and Plantin Schoolbook, I welded two scallop strips, one on top of the other and created my own. I used scraps of cardstock to make this ombre effect. And then, to add more texture, I used the negative cut as a pattern for some hand stitching. It took a bit of time to do, but I think the texture it adds was so worth the effort!

If you have Design Studio and Plantin Schoolbook and would like the cut file for the waves, just email me at scrapbookdiva at yahoo dot come and I will be happy to share it with you.

And be sure to stop by the SOUS blog to see all the other amazing work the ladies have done using the *sea* theme. They will blow you out of the water. Get it???  LOL!

Thanks for stopping by!
