Learn Something New Everyday

Happy Monday!

I have just a quick post, today because I am in the middle of a creative wave and I don't want it to end!

Every September, Shimelle Laine does a class called "Learn Something New Everyday". This is my second year participating, but I am ridiculously behind. Last year I did this mini album and I liked it, but I wanted to do more of an art journal this year. Which sounded like a good idea at the time, but it is a lot more work!!

I wanted to try techniques from some of my favourite art journaling videos (Christy Tomlinson, Donna Downey and Tim Holtz) and I also just did scrapbook type entries.

So, I still have about 10 days left to do in the album, but these are my favourites, so far.

I have to say that I'm having a lot of fun just playing with all my ink, paints and sprays. I haven't really done this kind of art in a while and it's feeling really good. I might just have to keep an art journal going all year round!

Thanks for looking!

Your kind comments always bring a smile to my heart and I appreciate every one!

Sunny Days

Happy Monday!

Can you believe that it's October 1st, today? Where did September go?

I haven't been doing much traditional scrapping lately. I was busy doing Shimelle Laine's "Learn Something New Everyday" class. I'm a bit behind (no surprise there), but I will post some pages when I am done.

But last night and this morning, I had the itch to do a real layout. So, I pulled more of my "Perfect Collection" pages and did this one in no time at all. I had the general setup done last night, and then I saw the Canadian Scrapbooker October Sketch and everything just fell into place after that.

I LOVE it!! Those of you who scrap will understand what I mean. I have loved lots of my pages over the years. But, every now and then, I'll make a page that just makes me so happy! And this one is it. I love the colours, I love the doodling and I LOVE the subject matter! And I love that it only took me two hours to complete!
