Riu Jalisco - 12x12 and pocket page mix

Hi there!

When I started organizing my travel album, I put all the photos that I wanted into their respective pocket pages and picked out my favourite photos to be 12x12 pages. This layout is the back of my title page and the right side is the start of the pocket pages. These photos aren't really my favourites but I needed to fill the space I had. And ironically, this is one of my favourite pages in a long while.

Papers: Fancy Pants Design, Prima Marketing; Embellishments: Fancy Pants,
Crate Paper; Making Memories, Marah Johnson, Bo Bunny gems

Stickers: Marth Stewart, Fancy Pants Designs; Diecut: Kerri Bradford;
Rubons: Bo Bunny; Stamps: Scraptivity

You may recognize some of the older rub-ons. I was shocked that the "retreat" rub-on worked like a charm. There's a label that says 2002 on the packaging and so I crossed my fingers that it hadn't dried up. But, like most Making Memories products, it went on without a hitch. There's another company I really miss.

Here is what the pages will look like in the album together.

Life is Good

Hi there!

After a long break, I am back to scrapping our vacation to Puerto Vallarta that we took in 2013. It's a good thing that I am doing most of the album in pocket pages and I'm hoping to get it finished quickly.  Luckily, I stored all my products for this album in a pizza box, so everything is still together that I originally bought. I was able to just pick up where I left off without too much trouble.

Here is a layout that didn't really help me catch up, because I just can't seem to get the concept that pocket page scrapping is supposed to be faster. Instead, I had to use up a bunch of time to make a palapa. ;)

Papers: Glitz Design, Bazzil Basics; Embellishments: Echo Park, Fancy
Pants Designs, October Afternoon, Tim Holtz, Crate Paper, Studio Calico;
SVG files: Lettering Delights, Kerri Bradford

I used an SVG file from Lettering Delights that was supposed to be for a cocktail umbrella. I cut four of the same image.  Then I cut three of the umbrellas to make the layers and using scissors cut slits into each layer to make the fringe. I inked each layer to give it even more dimension and viola! A palapa!

I love, love, love that wooden title. I forgot I even had it in the pizza box. I think I need to go buy some more of those.

Thanks for looking!

We Are So Classy!

Hi there!

I am lucky to have a core group of girlfriends who I've known for almost 20 years (for some, even longer!). We don't see each other as often as we used to, but I know that whenever we get together, we will talk and laugh and be silly - no matter the occasion. Even if one of us gets married, we may not act our age at that wedding.

And here is the proof!

Papers: Shimelle by American Crafts, Simple Stories; Embellishments: Simple Stories,
Studio Calico, American Crafts, Prima Marketing, Martha Stewart; Alphas: Bella Boulevard,
American Crafts, Misc: watercolour paint

The bride sent us these photos from the photo booth so I had to use them as 4x6, which meant a double page layout. The photos are quite busy (we could have coordinated our dresses a bit better than this! LOL!) so I tried to pick up some of the main colours in photos. The Simple Stories 3x4 cards were perfect for my subject matter and it made for a very quick and easy layout.

The background paper was a bit too white against the bright photos and cards, so I added some pink watercolour paint here and there to add some interest without being another major element.
