Can't Blog, Right Now.....

I'm on a roll creating art!

Happy Monday and I hope to be back later this week to show you what I made in this chaos. LOL!

Amazing

Happy Monday!

I have had this Bruno Mars song in my brain to use on a layout of Julia since I first heard it. But, I just couldn't find the right photo.

Then, Julia posted this self portrait on her Facebook page and it all came together for me. And I think the cut-out technique with my Cricut may be my new favourite technique! It looks very cool in real life.

Papers: Bazzill Basics, American Crafts, Echo Park, My Minds Eye; Stickers: Echo Park, My Minds Eye; Chipboard: My Minds Eye; Punch: EK Success; Brad My Minds Eye; Misc: Rhinestones, Doilies

I kept this page fairly simple so that the focus would be on Julia. And I love how the Everyday Eclectic and The Sweetest Thing lines worked so well together.

BTW, the page is straight in real life. Not sure why it looks crooked on here. ;)

Thanks for looking!

Perfect Collection

Happy Monday!

I'm very sorry I haven't posted in a while. I took a bit of a break from blogging due to vacation. But, that didn't mean I took a break from scrapping!

On the Labour Day long weekend, my husband and son were away at a hockey camp and that gave me the opportunity to get busy with a class I purchased. If you are a regular reader of my blog, you know I love Shimelle Laine's work. And her Perfect Collection video from True Scrap 3 is no exception!  I purchased the class a while ago, but I didn't really know what collection to use.

Then, one day I was in Winners and came upon Amy Tangerine's Sketchbook line. And while I was fondling the collection that night, I mean admiring the papers, :) it came to me that the collection would work beautifully with all my Canal Days Parade photos. I have only scrapped a couple years worth (2001 and 2002) but I always meant to make a theme album with all my other photos.

So I set to work following Shimelle's instructions and in one afternoon, created the pages in the photo below.

That's thirteen pages in an afternoon! So, all that was needed were some photos, journaling and a few embellishments.  And on Saturday afternoon of the long weekend, I created the following pages. All of them using the Amy Tangerine line, Thickers, stickers, Cricut, punches and lots and lots of Stickles!

I am so proud of myself! I have gone on four day scrapping retreats and gotten less done!  The pages are bit wild for my usual style, but I think it suits the tacky parade floats and costumes. HA!

I still have a few blank pages to use and I may have to make a few extras because I won't have enough for all my photos, but I've made a very good start to this album. And I want to make a few extra blanks to keep in the album for future years.

If you are interested in Shimelle's class, you can purchase it on her blog shimelle.com or at True Scrap
And if there's a  particular product you would like information on, please let me know.

TFL!
