I Carry Your Heart

Hi there!

If you read my blog last week, you might remember I mentioned that I have a personal rule about not starting one project before another project is finished.

Well, some rules were made to be broken.

Papers: Bazzill Basics, My Minds Eye, Crate Paper, Daler water colour paper; Stickers: Tim Holtz, Echo Park, American Crafts, Basic Grey; Diecuts: Wilna Furstenburg, Flowers: Prima, Bo Bunny, Petaloo;  Misc: Pearls, doily, embossing paste, Mr Huey's spray, Gelatos, Distress Ink, watercolour paint, Tim Holtz stencil

I love this photo so much and the inspiration to scrap it was going strong, so I went with it.  I started with a 12x10 piece of white water colour paper and used some embossing paste mixed with acrylic gold paint and the Tim Holtz stencil to start my background.  Once it was dry, I went to town with inks, mists, paints and gelatos. I love this technique because there really is no right or wrong and I can just play around. The diecuts from Wilna were the perfect base for my flower clusters.

This layout isn't my usual style, but I love how it turned out and I may just put it in a frame and display it on the wall.

So, next week, I'll be back to scrapping the rest of my vacation album. That is unless I get another burst of creativity in a different direction.  ;)

Thanks for looking!

Good Day Sunshine

Hi there!

I took a bit of a blog break over the last few weeks to celebrate my son's high school graduation and my parent's 50th anniversary.  Now that those celebrations are over, I'm hoping I can get back to scrapping!  Stay tuned for another batch of graduation photos - this time with a masculine theme. ;)

However, having the strict (aka anal) personality type that I possess, I had to finish the project on my desk before I can get to the grad layouts. That means I have to finish my vacation album.

Papers: Glitz Design, Bo Bunny; Embellishments: Crate Paper, Bo Bunny, Fancy Pants,
My Minds Eye, Glitz Design: Die Cut: Kerri Bradford, 2 Peas in a Bucket,

Another page where I used some very old product and mixed it with some new. The vellum die cuts are from this year's Crate Paper "Journey" collection, which I put with their collection from a couple years ago, "The Pier". And I can't tell you how old the Bo Bunny papers are. I just love when I can go into my stash and just pick out products that I love and work together.

I only have a few vacation pages left, so hopefully it won't take me too long to finish up the album. The problem is that summer is so busy, I usually don't have much time to scrap.  We shall see.

Thanks for looking!
