The Day I Became A Beer Drinker

Hi there!

One of the challenges of combining 12x12 pages and pocket pages in one album is when you have enough photos for a pocket page on one side of the page protector, but only a single photo for the other side. I decided to try scrapping a 12x12 layout in a pocket page.  I'm pretty happy with how it turned out!
Papers: Maggie Holmes, Pink Paislee; Embellishments: AC Digitals (Pink Paislee), My Minds Eye brads, unknown rhinestones; Close To My Heart alpha stamp, American Crafts date stamp

I started with a piece of Maggie Holmes Bloom background paper and cut it to fit the pockets.  Luckily, my page protector had a 4x4 opening in the centre, so I printed my photo to fit and embellished all the remaining pockets as if it was a regular 12x12 layout.

I ADORE these flowers from Pink Paislee. I love the colours and the whimsical shape of them. But, there were none left in my stash. I went searching on line for a digital version and was delighted to find them on the AC Digitals site.  I printed them onto white cardstock and fussy cut them. Doing embellishments this was is great because I was able to print as many as I wanted and in whatever size I wanted.

The small pink letter stickers are done with a Close To My Heart Alpha set and the "a beer drinker" was cut with my Silhouette. I cut the title four times out of cardstock and glued them together.  Then I covered them with glossy accents to give them some shine.  Once it was dry, I used a Micron 03 pen to outline the letters.  It's pretty rough, but it gives it a funky look that matches the subject.  ;) I added glossy accents to the centre of all the flowers to give them a bit more interest, as well.

I just love how this turned out. It was so fun to do. In real life, you don`t even notice the pockets of the protector.  And the silly photo is certainly centre stage. I`ll be doing this technique again!

Thanks for looking!
Sylvie
